25,000 college women download TN police’s Kaaval Uthavi app at Tiruchengode event

NAMAKKAL: Around 25,000 students studying in colleges run by Vivekanandha Educational Institutions for Women downloaded the Tamil Nadu police’s Kaaval Uthavi app at an event in Tiruchengode on Saturday.
The event was organised on the campus by the Namakkal district police. Addressing the students, superintendent of police S Rajesh Kannan highlighted the state police’s commitment to implementing various initiatives and technological strategies aimed at maintaining law and order and preventing crime especially against women.
He said the Kaaval Uthavi app was developed to provide essential features that allow women and other users to quickly access police assistance and services in emergencies. He emphasized that women could receive immediate help and support from police.
At the event, students participated in a demonstration where they simultaneously waved their cell phones to show that they had downloaded the app.
The SP encouraged the students to share information about the app with their family members and others, stating that those who did so would receive certificates. He said students who promoted the maximum number of downloads would be eligible for cash prizes.
