NEW DELHI: Cricket fans heading to the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday for the high intensity IPL clash between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore may face heavy traffic and delays in the surrounding areas.
The match, scheduled to begin at 7.30pm, is expected to attract a large crowd, impacting traffic flow across key routes.

Key stretches such as Bahadurshah Zafar Marg (BSZ), Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Marg, and Asaf Ali Road will be affected.
While no special advisory has been issued yet for the upcoming IPL match, previous advisories were released for the last match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, urging commuters to plan their travel accordingly.
Traffic disruptions are anticipated due to the large crowd expected at the venue, and local authorities are expected to issue further guidance closer to the event.

Traffic Diversions & Restrictions
Traffic will be diverted on several key roads, and heavy vehicles and buses will be restricted in the following areas:
  • From Daryaganj to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg

  • From Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road

Commuters are advised to avoid these roads from 5:30 pm to midnight on match day.
Affected Roads:
  • JLN Marg – Rajghat to Delhi Gate up to Kamla Market Roundabout (both carriageways)

  • Asaf Ali Road – Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate

  • Bahadurshah Zafar Marg – Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk (both carriageways)

Traffic Advisory for Commuters:
  • App-Based Taxi Pick-Up & Drop-Off Points:

    • Gate No. 2 – Maulana Azad Medical College (BSZ Marg)

    • Rajghat Chowk

  • Instructions:

    • Commuters are urged to use public transport wherever possible.

    • Adhere to traffic rules and cooperate with traffic personnel for a smooth experience.

  • Parking Restrictions: No parking will be allowed on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg, and Ring Road from Rajghat to IP Flyover. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed.

Entry Points to the Stadium:
  • Gates 1-8: Southern side (entry from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg)

  • Gates 10-15: Eastern side (entry from JLN Marg)

  • Gates 16-18: Western side (entry from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg)

Spectators are advised to arrive early and use the shuttle services for a smooth experience.
