Tamil Nadu SSLC results 2025 Live : The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, is expected to release the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC, Class 10th) and Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSE, Class 11th) public examinations for the academic year 2024-25 on May 16, 2025. The Tamil Nadu Schoo Education Minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, confirmed it and the formal announcement will take place at the Prof. Anbazhagan Education Complex.


This year, more than 17 lakh students appeared for the public examinations in the state. Out of the 9,08,080 candidates registered for the SSLC exams, approximately 8,94,264 students took the pen-and-paper tests between March 28 and April 15, 2025. The Class 11 (HSE +1) exams, which commenced earlier, saw nearly 8,00,000 candidates writing their papers between March 5 and March 27, 2025.

Time and mode of TN SSLC result declaration
The results for Class 10 (SSLC) will go live at 9:00 AM, followed by the Class 11 (HSE +1) results at 2:00 PM on May 16. Students can download their provisional marksheets from the following official platforms:

In addition to the online portals, marks will be sent via SMS to the mobile numbers registered during the examination application process. Hard copies of the results will also be made available at the respective schools for verification and collection.

Exam pattern and evaluation timeline
For Class 10 students, the subjects included Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and optional languages. To qualify, students must secure a minimum of 35 marks out of 100 in each subject, with at least 20 marks in the theory component.

SSLC practical examinations were held from February 22 to February 28, 2025, while the evaluation of answer sheets concluded by April 22 for Class 10 and April 13 for Class 11.

Glance at previous year’s performance

In the academic year 2023–24, the SSLC pass percentage was 91.55%, with girls outperforming boys by a notable margin—94.53% versus 88.58%. Perumbalur district led the scoreboard with a pass percentage of 97.6%, followed by Sivaganga and Virudhunagar. Impressively, 3,718 schools reported a 100% pass rate, with private institutions registering a stellar 97.38% pass rate. While the DGE did not release a separate breakdown for Class 11, the overall Higher Secondary pass rate stood at 94.56%. Ariyalur led with 97.31%, followed by Sivagangai (97.02%) and Ramanathapuram (96.36%).


Post-result instructions and supplementary options

Once the results are declared, students are advised to collect their original marksheets from their schools within a few days. In case of any discrepancies in the provisional scorecards, they must immediately contact the school authorities or the DGE for necessary corrections.

For added convenience, the DGE has introduced the ‘TN SSLC Result 2025’ mobile app, now available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, allowing students to check their marks from their smartphones.

Candidates unsatisfied with their results can opt for revaluation or retotaling. Requests for photocopies of answer sheets must be made online at apply1.tndge.org, with a revaluation fee of ₹505 per subject.

Students who do not pass will have the opportunity to appear for supplementary exams scheduled for June or July 2025, with results expected in August.

Post-result, students can collect their original marksheets from their schools. In case of discrepancies in provisional results, they must report them to school authorities or the DGE. Revaluation and retotaling options are available through the DGE’s official portal, with a fee of ₹505 per subject. Supplementary exams will be conducted in June or July, with results likely in August.
