'Kesari 2' box office collection day 12: The Akshay Kumar starrer crosses Rs 70 crore on second Tuesday, continues to dominate over other releases
Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, Ananya Panday's 'Kesari Chapter 2' has been receiving some rave reviews ever since it released. This led to seeing some growth in the footfalls for the film over the first weekend after a decent opening number on first Friday. The film has been doing well in multiplexes in cities like Mumbai, Delhi and also in areas of Punjab, UP. It may cross the Rs 100 crore mark if it continues its run like this, however, there are many new releases on May 1 which may give a tough competition to 'Kesari 2'.
Kesari Chapter 2 Movie Review

'Kesari 2' box office collection on Tuesday, day 12

The movie is dominating at the box office at the moment over other releases like 'Jaat' and 'Ground Zero'. After making Rs 46.1 crore in week 1, it had a drop in the second weekend as compared to the first. It made Rs 11 crore combined on the second Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, the film made Rs 2.75 crore and on Tuesday, it garnered Rs 2.50 crore. Thus, the total collection so far now stands at Rs 70.65 crore according to Sacnilk.

New releases on May 1

Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh's 'Raid 2' and 'Bhootnii' starring Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy and Palak Tiwari are set to release on May 1 which is a holiday. While all the movies may benefit out of it, one can expect 'Raid 2' to give competition to 'Kesari 2'. Meanwhile, Sunny Deol's 'Jaat' has now begun to decline and it only collected Rs 65 lakh on Tuesday which was its day 20. In this case, if the new releases start performing better than 'Kesari 2', it is less likely that the movie will remain steady and cross Rs 100 crore. However, this collection is also quite good for a film like this which was meant for a niche audience and not a massy movie like 'Sikandar'. In that case, it can be said that 'Kesari 2' has performed much better than Salman Khan's last outing 'Sikandar'. Also, the budget of 'Sikandar' was really high. Meanwhile, for 'Kesari 2', several reports suggested the film was originally meant just for OTT release. In that scenario, it's commendable for it to have even crossed Rs 70 crore, according to trade.
