Ranveer Allahbadia says he 'lost health, money, opportunity, repute, peace' after India's Got Latent controversy: 'Mobs love seeing people fall'
Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has finally broken his silence on the emotional and professional impact of the India’s Got Latent controversy. The 31-year-old YouTuber addressed the issue during a candid Instagram Q&A session, opening up about how the backlash has affected him deeply on multiple fronts.
The controversy erupted earlier this year when a clip from the YouTube show India’s Got Latent featuring Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others went viral. The now-deleted segment included a sexually charged question involving parents, sparking public outrage. FIRs were subsequently filed against Allahbadia and several others, including Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija, and Jaspreet Singh. Investigations were launched by both Maharashtra and Assam police, and the National Human Rights Commission raised concerns about its potential harm to minors.

In his Q&A, Ranveer responded to a follower who asked what the incident had cost him, “Lost: Health, money, opportunity, repute, mental health, peace, parents' contentment & much more. Gained: Transformation, spiritual growth, toughness. Will slowly work towards getting back everything that's lost. Let the work speak.”
He also shared his biggest concern during the fallout, revealing that he feared the consequences his mistake might have on his team, “That I let down the families of my team members because of my mistake. People don't understand how many jobs are at stake. Quickly wrote off my career and hence the careers of 300+ people. Learnt very deeply about human nature. Mobs love seeing people fall. But we will keep moving forward. I'm not 100% okay even now. Have to give it my all because MANY livelihoods depend on my work.”

On a more personal note, Ranveer said that watching his family suffer was the hardest part of the ordeal, “This part of the chaos hurt the most. When your work, your actions have an impact on your loved ones. But both my parents are warriors. That's where I get my mentality from! Was tough, but we are getting past it.”
Following widespread backlash, comedian Samay Raina removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent and promised full cooperation with authorities. Recently, both he and Ranveer Allahbadia appeared before Maharashtra Cyber officials for questioning under the IT Act and sections of the IPC.
Ranveer had earlier issued a public apology stating, “Comedy is not my forte,” and approached the Supreme Court for protection against coercive legal action as multiple FIRs were filed across the country.
