Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's starrer historical epic 'Chhaava,' directed by Laxman Utekar, has been a massive hit since its release. The movie, after such a positive reception, was dubbed and released in the Telugu states yesterday, and early box office numbers suggest the film made a decent start in the Telugu language.
As per a report by trade analyst Sacnilk, the 'Chhaava' Telugu dub on Day 1 collected over Rs 2.25 crore. On its 22nd day, the film collected approximately Rs 8.5 crore across all languages, with the Telugu version alone making Rs 2.25 crore on its first day.
The Telugu audience has praised the film for its powerful performances. Many viewers have admired Vicky Kaushal's portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj. The film's climax, in particular, has been praised for its heart-wrenching portrayal of bravery and sacrifice.
Globally, 'Chhaava' has already grossed nearly Rs 700 crore, solidifying its position as one of the biggest box office hits of the year.

The film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film begins with the news of Shivaji's death reaching the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, who believes this marks the end of the Maratha resistance. However, Sambhaji Maharaj proves him wrong by launching a daring attack on Burhanpur, a key Mughal administrative center, and seizing its treasury.

Vicky Kaushal stars as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai Bhonsale, Sambhaji's wife. Akshaye Khanna portrays the role of Aurangzeb, the Mughal Emperor.
The film also includes Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Diana Penty in key roles.
